Almost a year ago, Tim and I were on our way to Thailand for what had to be one of the best holidays ever. Let me tell you why.
For starters, it was our honeymoon – a fact that automatically adds 10 amazing holiday points to even the dreariest of trips. Secondly, it was a well-deserved break after a long 11 months of work. But most importantly, it was because of Thailand itself.
Thailand has had a bad rap over the years with its recent terror attack, political protests and disastrous tsunami, but it deserves so much better. It’s no longer just a place for young Brits to drink their weight in spirits at a full moon party, but a country with a fascinating history and culture, beautiful scenery and the friendliest people I’ve ever met.
Our trip started in Bangkok where we soaked up the culture with a city tour before heading up to Chiang Mai to see the jungle. Our tour ended with a relaxing break in Krabi, a seaside town that is the perfect combination of beach and city life.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing the highlights from our trip and giving you some ideas on where to stay, what to visit and how to eat. Keep checking back!
